Do you know what we do at the Health Department?

We offer several services at the Health Department.  If you don’t see what you need here, please call our office and we will try to help you or offer other resources that we may know of.

Christine Breakfield is our nutritionist and is willing to meet with you on your nutritional needs.  The cost is $20.00 per hour.  Contact her to set up your appointment to improve your health today.

Our nurses give immunizations on Wednesdays.  Call Tammy to set up an appointment to keep up to date on all shots.  Right now we are offering flu shots on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays until our supply is gone.  Cost is $20.00 for children and adults.  We will bill Medicare part B for you if you have your Medicare Red, White and Blue card with you and they cover the entire cost of the shot.  See our fee schedule for other shots.  We also still have a limited number of TDAP shots available for FREE.  Get your shot today and protect those little ones from pertussis.  They also do blood pressure and  blood glucose testing as well as pregnancy tests.

Birth and Death Certificates are available at the Health Department.  Please see the page for Birth and Death which includes the form to be filled out before we can do a search and print off the birth or death certificate for you.

WIC is available for our clients on Tuesdays and Thursdays by appointment.  Call our office for appointments and check the page titled WIC here for requirements.

Environmental services offer sewer permits, food permits, and food handler classes.  We also are responsible for inspections of new septic systems, food establishments (full-time and temporary), lodging inspections, truck wrecks, food recalls, distressed food, and day care inspections.  Occasionally we offer different classes on food dehydration, emergency food storage, and preparing food gifts.  Please contact our office if interested in one of these classes.  Mylene will be going to the Callaway County Library on November 19th to teach “Edible Gifts” just in time for the Holidays.  She is also teaching a food dehydration class at Pleasant Grove UMC in Hatton on November 23 at 2:30 pm.  Call her to reserve your spot in this class.
