National Severe Weather Week continues

Today’s focus for National Severe Weather week is flash flooding.

Do you know what areas are more prone to flash flooding in your area?  Talk to your neighbors if you don’t and make sure you are aware of driving conditions and weather conditions when you are out and about everyday.  Never drive through running water , the roadway may have washed away under it or it could sweep your vehicle downstream.

Flash flooding occurs very quickly and can leave you stranded in your car/truck, floating away somewhere.  Spring rains always make creeks and rivers rise in Callaway County.  Make sure you have an escape route.  And sometimes they rise very rapidly.  Listen to the weather reports and sign up at http://callawaycountyema.com for reports in your area.

Remember: “Turn around, Don’t Drown”
